CONSEIL EN PROPRIETE INDUSTRIELLE - Brevets, Mandataire Européen, spécialisé en électronique.

Outre une solide expertise en électronique, vous êtes titulaire du diplôme du CEIPI et possédez les qualifications EQE et CPI. Vous êtes bilingue français-anglais et justifiez de préférence d'une expérience d'au moins 5 ans acquise en Cabinet ou en industrie, préférablement au contact de grandes entreprises internationales.

De surcroît, vous êtes extrêmement organisé et présentez un très bon relationnel indispensable à une collaboration efficace avec l'équipe française déjà constituée et, de manière générale, avec l’ensemble des collaborateurs évoluant au sein de Murgitroyd & Company.

Les missions principales à effectuer concernent, outre les activités classiques (rédaction de demandes de brevet, suivi des procédures de délivrance, études de brevetabilité et de liberté d’exploitation, contentieux, etc.), le développement du portefeuille clients.

Des déplacements en France et à l'international sont à prévoir de façon occasionnelle.

Rémunération selon l’expérience et le potentiel du candidat.

Candidate shall possess:

Essential Functions

• Work closely with top management to stimulate the patent generation and filing process
• Engineering departments are monitored and searched for patentable ideas
• Ideas are screened and assessed by the Patent Committee
• Committee is chaired by the EVP strategy and Technology
• Director of IP department shall organize and be the secretary of the Patent Committee
• A significant amount of patent filings must take place every year
• Patent applications are drafted and prosecuted, including supervising the activity of other IP team members and outside patent attorneys
• Build an IP Strategy and manage the portfolio of patents
• review existing patents - decision to maintain, drop or license
• study of licensing options available
• pursue (negotiate) the ones approved by top management
• Provide advice and counseling on all aspects of IP
• Patent prosecution: help to decide whether or not to seek patent protection. Negotiate the licensing agreements on suitable terms and conditions, notably for royalties and license fees.
• Review and negotiate the IP aspects of commercial agreements
• Infringement opinions: advise upon infringement avoidance, assist in the development of "engineer work around options,"
• Handle opposition proceedings, and where required, co-operate with legal counsel in connection with these actions
• Supervise IP activities of the team or external counsels
• Patent/Registered rights search
• Search patent information databases for novelty and infringement assessment purposes (prior art) in connection with new inventions and development projects
• IP trainings: prepare and deliver IP training in the form of seminars or presentations for engineers, sales and marketing managers and senior management.

Education

• Degree in a suitable technological discipline
• At least 5 years – preferably 10 years - post qualification experience, preferably in industrial practice
• European Patent Attorney qualification and/or a corresponding European national professional qualification

Location

• Open (ideally Poznan, Poland)
•  Travel to other company locations – notably where engineers are located (Poland, Ukraine, Italy)

Missions :

Rattaché(e) au responsable des brevets, vos missions consisteront essentiellement

• à identifier et évaluer les inventions issues du centre de recherche, de l’hôpital, ou du département de transfert de l’Institut Curie
• à assurer le dépôt de demandes de brevet et le suivi des procédures d’examen dans les différentes juridictions, en relation avec des cabinets de propriété industrielle
• à tenir informés les inventeurs et les copropriétaires du suivi des dossiers brevets
• à participer à l’élaboration de la stratégie de propriété industrielle (opinions, recommandations sur des problématiques de fond : cahiers de laboratoires, éducation des chercheurs,…), et
• à participer à l’élaboration, avec les chargés d’affaires et le responsable des brevets, d’une stratégie cohérente pour valoriser les dossiers brevets.

Profil :

• Vous êtes diplômé(e) en propriété industrielle (CEIPI au minimum)
• Vous êtes diplômé(e) d’un 3ème cycle universitaire ou d’une école d’ingénieur dans les domaines de la chimie, biologie ou biotechnologie.
• Vous êtes capable d’analyser des documents techniques et légaux dans divers domaines techniques (chimie, biologie, physique).
• Organisé(e) et rigoureu(x)(se), excellent(e) rédact(eur)(rice), doté(e) d’un bon sens relationnel et d’un bon esprit de synthèse, vous maîtrisez parfaitement l’anglais, et savez travailler en équipe.

a Life Science PATENT ATTORNEY (m/w) 

The duties of the successful candidate will involve drafting and prosecuting European and French patent applications, handling EPO oppositions and appeals, performing validity and infringement assessments, as experience and qualifications permit, and providing advice to an international clientele. The technical fields concerned include animal and plant biology, biochemistry, immunology, pharmaceutical sciences and genetics.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent educational background to at least degree level in a LIFE SCIENCE and experience of working in the patent field, either in private practice or in industry. The candidate will be a qualified European Patent Attorney, or will be in the process of completing the European qualification. A French national qualification would be advantageous.

Fluency in French and English is indispensable. German is a plus.
